Conference of SPs held Security scenario of Islands discussed; all district SPs to conduct regular mock drill

   A day-long conference of all SPs was called at Police Head Quarters which was inaugurated by Shri. Rajesh Malik, DGP, A & N Police. Issues of emergent national interest such as disaster management, terrorist threats, importance of intelligence sharing, cooperation among various security agencies in these Islands and resource requirement of police including Police modernization, SOPs to deal with various kinds of threats were discussed in the meeting. IGP, SPs of all the three districts and SP PMF informed about their preparations to deal with terrorist attacks and natural disasters etc.
   Keeping in view present scenario of emerging terrorism threats, the modalities to combat, to tackle with terrorist threats /attack were discussed in accordance with the SOPs and as per present situation at national and International level.
The action plan and role of all stakeholders for disaster management and terrorist attacks were also discussed. Awareness campaign will be organized with the public and students to aware regularly about disaster management and terrorist attacks by the Police. The need of regular meeting with liasioning and co- ordination with various stakeholders including public was discussed. The DGP A & N Islands directed all district SPs to conduct regular mock drill in their areas alongwith all concerned agencies before 15th August to assess and to check preparedness, a communication from the Superintendent of Police (HQ), Police Headquarters said.
