‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ programme held in Nancowrie

   The Integrated Child Development Project Office, tribal project, Car Nicobar organized awareness programme on 'good touch and bad touch', POCSO (Prevention Of Child Sexual Offence) and teenage pregnancy at the community hall, Kamorta recently. A large number of mothers, adolescent girls, lady representative of all villages and HOOs were present during the event. 
 Shri Casper James, Assistant Commissioner, Nancowry block, presided over the function and Dr H M Siddaraju, Chief Medical Officer, CHC Nancowry was the guest of honour.   
 While, Dr Siddaraju emphasised on the women empowerment, Shri Casper James appealed to all the mothers and adolescent girls to make use of such workshops and ensure education, protection of the girl child.
   Smti. Indira Devi, Child Development Project Officer, Dr (Smt.) Rubeena Yusuf, Medical Officer (NRHM) explained about  teenage pregnancy and its complications. Smt. Nirmalakanthi Kerketta, Head Constable, Police Station, Nancowrie briefed 
about the prevention of child sexual offence. Smt. Sabeeha, Lady representative, Balubasti Village expressed her happiness over the large turnout of gatherings and for organizing such functions, a communication from the Child Development Project Officer said.
