Unlock 3 Guidelines to come into force from August 1

  The Union Home Ministry has issued new guidelines yesterday for opening up of more activities in areas outside the Containment Zones and the process of phased reopening of activities has been extended further in Unlock-3, which will come into effect from 1st August. Consequent upon this Order, the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration in the capacity as Chairperson, Union Territory Disaster Management Executive Committee for the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has ordered the following guidelines to be applicable in whole of Andaman & Nicobar Islands till 31.08.2020.    As per the order, schools, colleges, educational  and  coaching  institutions  will remain closed. Online/ distance learning shall continue to be permitted and shall be encouraged. Similarly, cinema halls, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls, yoga centres, gymnasiums and similar places will also remain closed. Social/political/sports/entertainment/academic/cultural/religious functions and other large congregations are also not permitted.    Lockdown shall continue to remain in force in the Containment Zones till 31st August, 2020. In the Containment Zones, only essential activities will be allowed. There shall be strict perimeter control to ensure that there is no movement of people in or out of these zones, except for medical emergencies and for maintaining supply of essential goods and services.     Movement of individuals shall remain strictly prohibited between 10:00 pm to 05:00 am throughout the Islands, except for essential activities, including operation of industrial units in multiple shifts, movement of persons and goods on national and state highways, loading and unloading of cargo and travel of persons to their destination after disembarking from buses, airplanes, ships. Persons above 65 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women, and children below the age of 10 years are advised to stay at home, except for essential and health purposes.
