COVID-19 Directives issued to shops & establishments for strict compliance

   In pursuance of the Order issued by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration dated 28.07.2020, the District Magistrate, South Andaman District has issued a Order stating that owners of shops and establishments shall strictly ensure physical distancing norms of 6 feet to be maintained inside the premises. Depending on space availability, not more than 5 customers to be allowed in a shop at a time. For smaller shops/booths, not more than one person to be serviced at a time. Other customers will maintain physical distancing of 6 feet- 2 Gaz ki Doori. Space markers denoting 2 Gaz ki Doori (6 Feet) shall be marked outside the shops for lining up. All workers/customers/visitors to be allowed entry only if using face cover/masks. The face cover/mask has to be worn by all, at all times inside the Shop/establishment. The Order further mentioned that respiratory etiquettes to be strictly followed. This involves strict practice of covering   one's   mouth   and   nose   while   coughing/sneezing   with   a tissue/handkerchief/flexed    elbow    and    disposing    off   used    tissues properly. Self-monitoring of health   by  all   staff  and   reporting any  illness  at  the earliest to helpline Nos. 1070/1077. The staff for home deliveries shall be screened thermally prior to allowing home deliveries. Cleaning and sanitation of the shops/establishments. Regular disinfection (using 1% sodium hypochlorite) of frequently touched surfaces like knobs, counters, hand rails etc.
