'Chetana' organises colourful cultural programme

   The Socio-Cultural Organisation 'Chetana' organized its Annual function 'Challenge Saath Saath', devoted to physically challenged students of these islands. The function marked with colourful cultural programme and honouring of academically best performing students in the AISSCE-2016, was held in the Tagore Auditorium here on Aug 16. Smti. Minati Biswas, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad South Andaman was the chief guest while Shri. Indrapal Singh, Councillor, PBMC was the guest of honour. The function was chaired by Swami Suddhanand Saraswati, Acharya- Chinmaya Mission- Port Blair.
In her address, the Adhyaksha hailed the work of Chetana and appreciated the initiative especially for physically challenged children. She donated a sum of Rs.10,000/- towards the expenses of the function. Shri. Indrapal Singh also expressed his views on the occasion. In his address Acharya- Chinmaya Mission, Swami Suddhanand Saraswati emphasized the need to identify the abilities of these children and explore them. 
At the outset, Dr. R. N. Rath, Convener, Chetana welcomed the gathering and highlighted the activities of Chetana organisation.
  Top four divyang performers in the AISSCE-2016 viz. Sujit Roy, Shurai Panna, N. Vijay Kumar and T. Jyothi were awarded with cash prizes and appreciation certificates. Participation certificates also were given to all the participants of the cultural programme. Shri. DVS Deep, General Secretary, Chetana proposed vote of thanks.
