PMEGP scheme paving way for income generation

Port Blair ,

For those desiring to set up self venture, PMEGP scheme has always been a platform to reckon with. Many aspiring entrepreneurs from A&N Islands have their dreams and visions realized through PMEGP scheme. The scheme has not only encouraged urban entrepreneurs but has given the rural poor, the ability to transform their heart's desire into reality. One such entrepreneur is Smti. Beena Kujur, a middle class youth from Betapur, Middle Andaman. A Post graduate, Beena always believed that there's incredible value in immersing oneself in small business community. She had an imperative desire for starting up on her own enterprises, but she lacked capital. She had  vague idea about schemes and institutions that help aspiring youth to establish their venture. Before seeking such help, first it was imperative to decide about her career goal. To start with, Beena did a market survey and found that there are units dealing with typing work along with photocopying and lamination which could be viable in her area, since such units were not much then. She approached A&NI KVIB, Port Blair for guidance.  The KVIB cleared the haze around her proposed goal. She was also given hope of financial assistance under PMEGP scheme. She went through the  required process and her application was approved by the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) which was forwarded to the financing bank for sanctioning of loan. The bank sanctioned a loan amount of Rs.2,27,000/-with which she started her unit during Sept 2018. Beena expressed her gratitude to PMEGP scheme for paving a way for her source of income.
