Counselling session for students held at Model School

   A counselling session for the students and parents of Class XII Science, Commerce, Arts, IT and FMM streams was organized at Govt. Model SSS auditorium recently. Around 300 students and parents attended the programme. Principal, Shri G. Shara Chandran while welcoming the gathering said the purpose of this counselling programme is to help the parents and students to overcome the examination stress and to help the students  prepare for their exams in a healthy atmosphere. He also informed about the functioning of the counselling centre in school and asked the students and parents to avail benefit from the services of the school counsellors.  
The resource person Dr. Meetesh Behari, ANIIMS interacted with the students and briefed about the various methods to overcome stress during the examination period and also about the importance of having a healthy diet and being healthy. 
Pamphlets on tips for preparing for exams and points to be remembered inside and outside the examination hall were distributed to the students.
Another resource person, Smti. Sajida Zubair, through a power point presentation explained the role of parents in providing a proper atmosphere to their children at home by being a role model for them and also the role of students in developing values in them and preparing them to overcome the various challenges faced during exams. She also had an interactive session with the parents and students and gave them tips to prepare to appear in the exams without stress, a communication from the Principal said.
