APPEAL

Port Blair ,

It is a matter of pride that India has remained free of Wild Polio cases since January, 2011. India's unprecedented progress against Polio has led to its certification as Polio free by WHO in March, 2014 and recently we have celebrated 25th year of Pulse Polio immunization in India. For protection against re-introduction of Polio virus, the National Immunization Day for polio is being organized on 31st January, 2021, covering all children in the age group of 0-5 years.
Amid the pandemic of COVID-19 we have stood firm and alert; so shall we continue our effort to maintain the Polio free status in these islands.

I appeal to all sections of society, especially PRI members, non-Government Organizations and people at the grass root level to extend their full and vigorous co-operation to make the Intensive National Immunization Day for Polio on 31st January, 2021 a great success.
