Yoga Protocol handbook presented to DC (N&M) Andaman

     As part of International Day of Yoga 2021 observance, a Yoga Protocol   Handbook was presented to Dr. (Smti) Angel Bhati Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman today. The handbook contains complete information on Yoga, fundamentals of yoga, yogic practices for good health, yoga asanas including benefits. The book was presented by Dr. Priyanka Iqbal, Medical Officer (Ayurveda), Dr. R. P. Hospital, Mayabunder and Smti. Puja Kumari, Yoga Instructor, Dr. R. P. Hospital, Mayabunder.
     During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Yoga can play an important role as a key to fitness and well-being. Yoga is a way to a life of serenity. It helps for Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. Taking cognizance of the current situation, it is not advisable to organize events for observing IDY-2021. Hence, this year use of Digital Media platform will be made with the theme "Be with Yoga, Be at Home" to underline the health benefits of Yoga. It acquires special significance against the backdrop of COVID-19. IDY 2021 will be celebrated by performing Yoga being at home with family for their own and safety of their family members. It creates a bond of oneness among people and community to get Harmony and Peace, a press release from DC (N&M) said.
