Fostering creativity & imagination in young minds Setting up of 'Atal Tinkering Laboratories'; schools asked to file online nominations by July 15

          The Govt. of India has decided to set up the 2nd round of ATL (Atal Tinkering Laboratory) under AIM (Atal Innovation Mission) through the NITI Aayog to cultivate one million children in India as 'Neoteric Innovators' with the objective to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds. ATL is a work space where young minds can give shape to their ideas through 'hands on do-it-yourself mode' and learn innovation skills. Young children will get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
              An amount of Rs. 10 Lakhs will be provided for establishing each ATL and Rs. 2 Lakhs will be provided every year for a period of five years towards operational and recurring expenses. All the schools having VI to XII grades including Govt. / Govt. Aided / Pvt. Unaided & Recognized / PSUs / Local Body / Pvt. Trust & Society, KVs & JNVs etc. are eligible to file nomination for establishing the Atal Tinkering Labs under this initiative.
        In this regard, all such schools running in this UT have been requested to visit the NITI Aayog's website httD://niti.aov.in/context/atal-tinkerinq-laboratories. and download the implementation guidelines, and file online nominations directly to the NITI Aayog latest by 15th of July-2017.
         The Department of Education, A & N Administration has informed all the schools running under this UT to utilize this opportunity to establish ATL in their respective schools for facilitating the students, a communication said.
