Vanmohatsava celebration at Rangat concludes

The closing ceremony of 66th Vanmahotsava was held at Forest conference hall Rangat on Aug 7. The Assistant Commissioner, Rangat, Shri S.S.Rawat who was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address, the chief guest underlined the need to protect the forests. He also stressed upon the fact that celebration of Vanmahotsava should not be limited with plantation of tree rather it should encourage the citizens to protect them.

Earlier, Shri Amit Anand, DFO(MA) welcomed the gathering and emphasized on the importance of Vanmahotsava celebration. An elocution competition was conducted for school students on the topic 'Are forest available in Andaman & Nicobar Islands sufficient to take care of needs of Islanders?' Kumari Alka of Govt.S.S.S Sabri, Surabi Das, Govt S.S.S Bakultala and Kausheen Sahil of VKV, Rangat bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively. 

Prizes for various competitions held in the Division as a part of celebration of 66th Vanmahotsava were distributed among the winners. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Smti R.Barkha, Forest Ranger, Middle Andaman Division.
