Meeting on Special Summary Revision held Special campaigns to be conducted on Nov 11 & 25

A meeting on Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency, with the 1st January, 2018 as the qualifying date, was held in the conference hall of Secretariat here today. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), A & N Islands Parliamentary Constituency, Ms Tanvi Garg presided over the meeting.
Briefing the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and other officials present in the meeting, who are involved in the process of Special Summary Revision works, the CEO exhorted them to diligently take up the work, so that no qualified voter is left out. They may seek the help of public representatives in identifying eligible voters. Special campaigns will be conducted on November 11 & 25, 2017 after which all eligible voters will be enrolled in the Electoral Rolls, she said.
The CEO advised the officials to submit the revised Electoral Rolls in time to the CEO office so that timely publicity of the same can be made and eligible voters can file claims and objections. She also informed them that the duty is of statutory in nature and need to be performed with seriousness and dedication. The final publication of Electoral rolls will be done on Jan 13, 2018.
