Lt. Governor to inaugurate NAVODIT today

The Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India in collaboration with the Department of Art and Culture, A&N Administra-tion will be organizing NAVODIT-Festival of Music and Dance by Young Talents for two days on Nov. 25 & 26, 2016. 
The inaugural function of the festival will be held at ASI Auditorium, Port Blair on Nov. 25 at 6.30 pm. The Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi will be the chief guest on the occasion. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Anindo Majumdar will be the guest of honour. 
    Classical dancers and folk singers from member states of EZCC namely Shri Dharmendra Kumar (Folk Singer from Bihar), Ms Satabdee Banerjee (Gaudiya Nritya of West Bengal), Ms Debjoya Sarkar (Kathak Dancer) ,Ms Sayani Chakraborty  (Bhartanatyam) ,Dhananjoy Dhibar (Jhumur & Baul song from WB), Sumita Roy (Bharatnatyam) and Ms Pryanka Talukdar (classical singer) and artists of Gauri Shankar Classical Dance Academy from A&N Islands will perform at the function. 
   This festival will be held in Chouldari Community Hall on Nov. 26 at 6 pm. All art lovers have been requested to attend the function and appreciate our rich cultural heritage, a communication from the Director (Art & Culture) said here today.
