Mock drill on disaster conducted by Police Deptt.

    In order to strengthen the preparedness of various units of the Andaman & Nicobar Police Department, a Mock Drill was conducted today in the morning hours. A scenario of 'collapsed structure and people entrapped therein' was simulated during the exercise in an under construction building at Guptapara Junction near Sheetala Mandir under the jurisdiction of Police Station Humfrygunj. All the units of Andaman & Nicobar Police involved responded promptly and carried out search and rescue operation as per the procedure while following the COVID-19 protocols. This exercise enhanced the coordination of various units of Andaman & Nicobar Police at the disaster site.  Similar exercises with various simulated scenarios have been planned in the jurisdiction of other Police Stations in the coming weeks, a press release from Superintendent of Police (PMF) said.
