Multi specialty medical camp & health awareness drive by ANC at Kamorta & Kakana Village

 The Andaman and Nicobar Command has been conducting outreach programmes for the local population in distant Islands regularly, under the guidance of Vice Admiral Bimal Verma, Commander-in-Chief, A & N Command. Accordingly, a multi-specialty medical camp and health awareness drive were conducted at CHC Kamorta recently. The medical team comprised of an ENT specialist and a Dental Officer from INHS Dhanvantari, a Dermatologist from INHS Asvini and Officer Commanding Station Health Organisation Port Blair besides two general physicians were present during the camp.
  During the medical outreach program, a multi-specialty counselling at CHC Kamorta, medical camp at Kakana village and a lecture on 'Adolescent Health' were held at Kamorta Island. 
As many as 153 patients received medical advice in the camp and 71 children attended the lecture which was appreciated by the local population. Similar Medical camp was also held at PHC Campbell Bay in which 180 patients benefitted from the camp. 
  Air Commodore RS Upadhyay, who recently took over as Chief Staff Officer (Medical), Andaman and Nicobar Command, stated  that such programs would continue to be conducted in future for the benefit of the local and tribal population. He also appreciated the assistance from the local Administration in making the camp a success, a communication said.
