Mock Drill on Earthquake & Fire conducted at Directorate of AH&VS

      The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration has directed to conduct Mock Drill in every Department on quarterly basis. Accordingly, the 1st mock Drill was conducted on Earthquake and Fire Incident in the Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS), A&N Administration   in coordination with District Administration (SA), Disaster Management, A&N Police, Health, Fire, NDRF and APWD by creating real time fire simulation scenarios and tested the preparedness level and response system of Department and other stakeholders. 
       Immediately on receipt of information of Earthquake & Fire Incident, the teams from AH&VS triggered their response mechanism to tackle the emergency earthquake & fire situation and informed mock incident to DEOC 
(S/A), SEOC, Fire & Health Control Rooms etc. 
       Meanwhile, the staff and team of AH&VS were activated to manage earthquake and fire scenario. Upon receipt of information, the teams of Police, Fire, NDRF, District Administration, Health, APWD and Disaster Management reported at the site with resources and tackled the situation with coordinated method. 
      Later, the Mock Drill was called off and was  followed by a debriefing session, wherein the Observers of the Mock Drill explained the findings and gaps of the drill. The Officers of Resource Departments were urged to check their preparedness regularly and provide trainings to their teams 
with basic skill on safety measures to cope  with any crisis in near future, a press release from Directorate of Disaster Management said.
