‘ Vaccination Festival-Tika Utsav ’ to begin today across A&N Islands to control surging COVID-19 cases

     'Vaccination Festival-Tika Utsav' will be organized in A&N Islands from tomorrow (April 11) to fight against the surging COVID-19 cases. The mass vaccination programme will be conducted till 14th of this month. All eligible persons can register in CoWIN portal and Aarogya Setu App. On-site registration facility is also available. COVID Vaccination Centers have been opened in all the Health Care institutions in A&N Islands viz. Primary Health Centres and above for facilitating the general public and to reduce the movement of the beneficiaries to long distances. People who are above 45 years of age i.e. who are born before 01.01.1977 are eligible to take the vaccine in the nearest centers. If required, additional booths will be opened in addition to the above. The Centres will function on all days between 9.30 am and 4 pm for registration with extended time period post registration.
    People have been requested to reach the centers in staggered manner and local Community Based Organizations may extend help to the health officials to conduct the session.
   Beneficiaries have been requested to reach the nearest Vaccination Centres to get themselves vaccinated and make the 'Tika Utsav' a grand success in these Islands. All have been requested to follow COVID appropriate behavior by maintaining safe social distancing 'Do Gaj Ki Doori', wash hand and face intermittently with soap and water ensuring 60 seconds of contact with soap and wearing appropriate masks in crowded places.
  A&N Administration is committed to control the pandemic with the help of general public and is adopting the approach of Tracking, Testing and Treating ILI /COVID-19 cases. In addition to the vaccination, all should adopt COVID Appropriate Behavior 'Davai Bhi Aur Kadai Bhi', a press release from DHS said.
