BJP State President & others meet Home Minister Urges to introduce 'Inner Line Permit' & accord permission for direct trade between A&N Islands & South East Asian countries

The State President BJP, A&N Islands, Shri. Vishal Jolly alongwith the State General Secretary BJP, Shri. Prakash Adhikari and PBMC Chairman, Shri. I.P. Singh met the Union Home Minister, Shri. Rajnath Singh at New Delhi on April 12. Shri. Vishal Jolly urged the Home Minister to introduce strong 'Inner Line Permit' to stop influx of population in these Islands and also accord permission for direct trade between A&N Islands and South East Asian countries namely Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and Cambodia on construction materials i.e. sand and stone boulders/aggregates and other essential goods to provide cost benefits to the Islanders as compared to the cost of the same material/goods brought from mainland, due to distance factor.
Shri. Vishal Jolly also requested the Home Minister to reconstitute the Pradesh Council with Executive Power in A&N Islands. He added that due to absence of State Assembly in A&N Islands, the elected representatives are facing difficulty in serving the Islanders, a communication said.
