Health Camp-cum-Workshop for adolescent girls conducted at Chouldari

       The State Resource Centre for Women under the Directorate of Social Welfare and District Level Centre for Women under District Administration, South Andaman in collaboration with Directorate of Health Services and Food and Nutrition Board organized a Health Camp-cum-Workshop on menstrual health and hygiene, food and nutrition, dental hygiene and self care tips including yoga and meditation at  community hall, Chouldari today for adolescent girls. The aim of the workshop was to propagate heath care facility, provide health care services and counsel them on basic hygiene and nutrition for holistic development.
     The Director, Social Welfare, Shri Aditya Kumar Jha in his inaugural address highlighted about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle by having a nutritious diet and proper oral hygiene among  adolescent.
  Shri P.K. Mishra, Demonstration Officer, Food and Nutrition Board, Dr. Neha Mohan, BDS, Ms. Noor Jahan, Health Educator and Ms. Jyothi, Yoga Instructor delivered talks on different aspects of health and nutrition.
    The program concluded with medical camp to identify anemia, blood pressure, nutrition status, eye checkup and counseling. A similar program for women will be held on Feb.24, a press release from Directorate of Social Welfare said.
