Administration intensifies COVID-19 vaccination drive in A&N Islands Health Care Workers reaches out to people through door to door vaccination during a special drive

     During the special vaccination drive, a total of 3500 persons were vaccinated in a single day today. The team of Directorate of Health Services in association with NGOs and Community Based Organizations organized vaccination camps at different places besides door to door vaccination was also carried out to cover maximum persons who are yet to receive their first dose. A list of left out persons has been prepared and they will be vaccinated tomorrow. To facilitate the special vaccination drive all the designated vaccination centres were made functional today wherein a good number of eligible beneficiaries were inoculated.
      As per data available, a total of 3, 87, 285 doses of vaccines have been administered to the beneficiaries so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2, 81, 603 (approx.). 2541 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 1921 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 928 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District, out of which, 650 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44. 31 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Nicobar District, out of which, 18 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. A total of 1, 58, 617 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date, a press release from DHS said.
