The Integrated Health Information Platform  with the  help of tools like Syndromic- S Form for the ground level workers, involved in survey like ANMs to provide on the spot information on any disease. P-form is for Pharmacists and Nurses who deals with IHIP had to fill all the basic details like patient's name, address, contact number and others on it along with his or her diagnosis, which in turn the Medical Officer will validate. The third and last one is the L-form for laboratory personnel for providing details of pathological investigation; on-spot real time monitoring of disease can be done with the electronic information including basic details of the person infected with the particular disease.
Andaman & Nicobar Islands with the rest of the country has also rolled out the robust Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP). IHIP is real time, village wise; case based electronic health information system with GIS tagging which will help in prompt prevention and control of epidemic prone diseases. Surveillance is an essential and integral part of any national programme especially in the wake of epidemics and pandemics as it provides the evidence base for policy and strategy development. With an objective of digitising healthcare among others, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) under State Health Society-National Health Mission in association with Directorate of Health Services has conducted a series of training programmes among the key stakeholders in Andaman & Nicobar Islands as a precursor to the launch of IHIP in India.
More than 200 health officials have been trained so far to enable data entry in the digital platform right from the ground level of ANMs to PHCs/CHCs level i.e. at the physician and Laboratory level, a press release from Directorate of Health Services said.
