Intensive COVID-19 vaccination drive: A&N Islands to celebrate 'Tika Utsav' from April 11 to 14

        Together with the rest of the country, A&N Administration will also be celebrating the 'Tika Utsav' from April 11 to 14, 2021 across these Islands to carry out intensive covid-19 vaccination drive.  In this regard, COVID Vaccination Centers have been opened across the Islands, with a view to reduce the movement of the beneficiaries to long distances.
      People who are above 45 years of age i.e. who are born before 01.01.1977 are eligible to take the vaccine in the nearest centers. The vaccination sites are at JNRM, Port Blair, PHC Garacharama, Community Hall Chouldari, PHC Ferrargunj, CHC Bambooflat, PHC Baratang, PHC Kadamtala, CHC Rangat, PHC Billiground, Dr. RP Hospital Mayabunder, CHC Diglipur, PHC Radhanagar, PHC Kalighat, PHC Swaraj Dweep, PHC Shaheed Dweep, PHC Hutbay, PHC RK Pur, BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar, CHC Nancowry, PHC Teressa, PHC Katchal, and PHC Campbell Bay. If required additional booths will be opened in addition to the above.
      The Centres will function on all days between 9.30 am and 4 pm for registration and extended after 4 pm to cover all the registered beneficiaries.
    Beneficiaries have been requested to reach the nearest Centres to get themselves vaccinated and make the 'Tika Utsav' a grand success in these Islands. All have been requested to follow COVID appropriate behavior by maintaining safe social distance 'Do Gaj Ki Doori', wash hand & face with soap and water ensuring 60 seconds of contact with soap intermittently and wearing appropriate masks in crowded places.
   The A&N Administration is committed to control the pandemic with the help of general public and is adopting the approach of Tracking, Testing and Treating ILI/ COVID-19 cases. In addition to the vaccination, all should adopt COVID Appropriate Behavior 'Dawai Bhi Aur Kadai Bhi', a press release from DHS said.
