PM holds meeting on Pathankot, Afghanistan attacks

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today presided over a high-level meeting in New Delhi to discuss the ongoing operation at Pathankot air base to flush out holed up terrorists and the attack on Indian Consulate in Afghanistan.
Top security officials, including National Security Advisor Shri Ajit Doval have briefed Shri Modi on both the matters. Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley and Defence Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar who are members of the Cabinet Committee on Security, were also present in the meeting.
The Prime Minister had chaired a similar meeting last night of top officials, including Shri Doval and Foreign Secretary Shri S Jaishankar soon after returning from his two-day visit to Karnataka. The operation against militants holed up at the air base entered the third day today after explosions and firing continued intermittently overnight.
