Video Conferencing Cabins inaugurated at Circuit Bench of Calcutta High Court at Port Blair

      Ten video conferencing cabins were inaugurated at the Circuit Bench of the Calcutta High Court at Port Blair today by Hon'ble Chief Justice T.S. Sivagnanam, Hon'ble Justice Madhuresh Prasad, Hon'ble Justice Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, Hon'ble Justice Raja Basu Chowdhury, and Hon'ble Justice Supratim Bhattacharya.
        Hon'ble Justice Madhuresh Prasad and Hon'ble Justice Supratim Bhattacharya physically unveiled the ceremonial plaque, lit the ceremonial lamp, and cut the ceremonial ribbon. Justice Madhuresh Prasad delivered the welcome address, and Hon'ble Chief Justice T.S. Sivagnanam delivered the inaugural speech. Hon'ble Justice Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya addressed the gathering, and Hon'ble Justice Raja Basu Chowdhury delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was attended by the Ld. District & Sessions Judge, A&N Islands Judicial officers, Ld. Advocates and A & N Administration officials.
 The entire inauguration program was meticulously arranged by Shri Bhawani Shanker Sharma, Registrar, Circuit Bench of Calcutta High Court at Port Blair.
      These video conferencing cabins are the first of their kind in India at a Circuit Bench. This initiative marks the first time that ten VC cabins have been established at such a Bench. These cabins are equipped with state-of-the-art video conferencing facilities for Learned Advocates and litigants of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, enabling them to conduct hearings with the Hon'ble Apex Court, High Courts, District Courts, and tribunals throughout India, a press release from Registrar said.
