Valedictory function of World Consumer Rights Week held at Car Nicobar

    The valedictory function of the weeklong celebration of World Consumer Rights Day, 2021 under the theme 'Tackling Plastic Pollution' was held at District Library, Car Nicobar yesterday. Shri Kishore Kshirsagar Lakshman, Deputy Commissioner of Nicobar District was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the rights of the consumer and the duties of the traders.
    During the week, various competitions such as poster making, cleaning drive, quiz competition and roadside awareness programmes were organized by the Civil Supplies Unit, Car Nicobar. Later, an interaction session was organized in which consumers and sellers discussed various issues commonly faced by them. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of various competitions. The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by the Asst. Director (CS&CA) Car Nicobar, a press release received here said.
