Establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in South Andaman Land identified at Port Mout village

The dream for establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in South Andaman has come true. The Andaman & Nicobar Administration has identified a land 
at Port Mout Village, Ferrargunj Tehsil 
under South Andaman District and requested the Deputy Commissioner (Admn.), Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Hyderabad Region to depute their representatives for inspection of identified site for conformity and suitability of establishing the proposed Navodaya Vidyalaya. The Secretary (Edn.) in her letter addressed to the Member of Parliament has confirmed this.  
After formation of new District of North & Middle Andaman, the South Andaman District is entitled for opening of new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya under the Common Minimum Programme in special focus districts (identified as Educationally Backward/ Minority Concentrated / SC Female Literacy less than 10%).  
In this regard, the Member of Parliament has also requested Deputy Commissioner (Admn.), Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Hyderabad Region to depute their representative for inspection of identified site at Port Mout under South Andaman District for conformity and its suitability.  At the 
same time the Member 
of Parliament requested 
the Administration 
to expedite the project issues.  
It is pertinent to mention that the Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, had been demanding for establishing Navodaya Vidyalaya in South Andaman District since long, a communication from the Office of the MP said here today.
