Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways (Independent Charge) & Chemicals & Fertilizers arrives on a 3-day visit to Isles

    The Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways (Independent Charge) & Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India, Shri. Mansukh Mandaviya arrived on a three-day visit to these Islands today. On arrival, the Minister was received by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain and other Senior Officers of the Administration at the Veer Savarkar International Airport.
  Soon after arrival, the Minister visited Campbell Bay and inspected the ongoing works and discussed about the proposed Transshipment Port at South Bay in Campbell Bay.
     Tomorrow, (Mar.28), the Minister will visit Shaheed Dweep wherein he will inaugurate the additional approach Jetty and Extension of Berthing Jetty at 9 am. Thereafter, the Minister will proceed to Swaraj Dweep where he is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for development of Sea Port Terminal &  separate approach way for cargo movement at Swaraj Dweep at 11.30 am. The Minister will also visit Blue Flag Certified Radha Nagar Beach, Elephanta Beach and also interact with local communities there.
   Later in the evening, the Minister will hold meeting with the Lt Governor, A&N Islands at Raj Niwas.
   On March 29, the Minister will inaugurate the extended Hope Town Wharf at 8.30 am at Hope Town. Thereafter, the Minister will arrive at Phoenix Bay
Jetty to inaugurate the Passenger Ferry AASHI1 Sonar Group and Sea Link Adventures. He will also inspect the construction of Marine Dry Dock. On completion of visit, the Minister is scheduled to return for mainland in the afternoon of March 29.
