Chief Secretary graces New Year celebration at Composite Regional Centre, A & N Islands

The Composite Regional Centre (CRC), A&N Islands witnessed a momentous New Year celebration today in coordination with NGO marked by the esteemed presence of Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary of A&N Administration as the chief guest. The event reflected the Administration's unwavering commitment to empowering persons with disabilities and fostering an inclusive society. The Chief Secretary's participation underscored the significance of CRC's efforts in promoting rehabilitation and inclusion in the region.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Secretary praised the energy and resilience of the Divyangjan, emphasizing their potential to inspire a vision for a more inclusive society. "Their enthusiasm and unique abilities remind us of the boundless possibilities within each individual," he remarked.
The event also featured ADIP (Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances) distribution ceremony, where the Chief Secretary personally handed over Aids and Appliances to beneficiaries, empowering them to lead more independent lives.
A cultural performance by special children and parents showcased their remarkable talents. Fun games for parents and children added a lively and engaging atmosphere to the celebration.
The programme was also attended by Shri L. Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Social Welfare and Smti Geeta Rani Verma, IPS, IGP, Narcotics, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Earlier, Smti Sumithamol, Director of CRC, A&N Islands welcomed the gathering. The highlight of the celebration was the special acknowledgment of Smti Komal Anand, Founder & President of Pankh NGO, Sri Vijaya Puram. Her vision and dedication to community welfare has been instrumental in making this event a reality. Pankh NGO sponsored the entire program and also donated a water cooler to CRC, reinforcing their unwavering support for Divyangjan and their families. Swami Suddhananda Saraswati, Chinmaya Mission also graced the programme.
The ceremony concluded with the Chief Secretary leading the New Year Cake Cutting Ceremony and distributing prizes and gifts to the winners of various activities and CwSN, leaving everyone inspired and motivated.
