Bank Linkage Camp organized by CD Block Ferrargunj

     A two-day Bank Linkage Camp was organized by the Community Development (CD) Block Ferrargunj with the objective of strengthening financial inclusion and providing credit linkage support to Self-Help Group (SHG) members, particularly those identified as potential Lakhpati Didis-women who are running successful livelihood ventures and are on the path to earning a sustainable income of at least one lakh rupees annually.
    The first day of the Camp was held at Community Management and Training Centre (CMTC), Ferrargunj. Smti Lalita Tigga, Block Development Officer, Ferrargunj, in her welcome address, emphasized the importance of SHG-bank linkages in promoting women's economic empowerment and supporting local livelihoods.
     The Branch Manager of State Bank of India (SBI), Wimberlygunj, Branch Manager of SBI, Ograbraj and the Branch Manager of Canara Bank, Ferrargunj were present during the camp.  A total of 53 potential Lakhpati Didis from different Panchayats participated in the camp. Among them, 8 SHG members have submitted their details to the bank staff, expressing interest in taking loans to expand their existing livelihood activities.
     The second day of the camp was held at Stewartgunj Gram Panchayat with the aim to educate SHG members about the significance of financial linkage in scaling their income-generating activities. A total of 27 potential Lakhpati Didis from various SHGs attended the session. 
      Bank representatives explained the process for applying for SHG loans, required documentation and the importance of maintaining financial discipline. CRISIL Foundation's team conducted awareness sessions on Government pension schemes available to SHG members. 7 SHG members successfully completed their bank linkage by submitting all necessary documents, a press release from BDO, Ferrargunj said.
